Marrakesh to Moscow : A Little Travel Update

From Marrakesh to Moscow - a travel update - lilacpaperdoll blog

Well hello! I know I’ve been a bit of an absentee blogger lately, but time is just zooming by so fast I don’t know what’s going on!

As summer is here, sort of, I thought I’d round up my travel plans.

I went to Spain for a wedding a few weeks ago, which was lovely. It was so nice to be back in Spain, drinking wine, eating tapas and enjoying the sun on my skin.

One of my favourite Spanish snacks – warm, crusty bread with garlic, olive oil and tomato to spread – yum!

The wedding was beautiful, from the gorgeous old church to the absolutely amazing tapas served at the drinks reception. It was a really nice weekend, and so good to get away.

At the end of this week, I’m heading off to Morocco, I’m so excited!! It’s also my birthday, my thirtieth, eek!! To celebrate this big event, all I wanted was to travel. I figured, what better way to mark the occasion than taking off somewhere new and exciting. Travel is my favourite thing in the world, and being somewhere I’ve never been is my favourite feeling.

Although Iran, India and Sri Lanka have been top of my destination list for ages, for a short holiday, Morocco turned out to be the answer. It’s a brand new continent for me, with great food and the best photo-taking opportunities, so its basically all I need.

The only downside is because time has been zipping by so fast, I haven’t had enough time to prep and research as much as I would like, which is a shame.

Either way, it’s going to be wonderful.

After Morocco, my sense of adventure will be satisfied, at least for a while. Later this summer, I will be going back to Ibiza for a few days. It’s a place that holds such a special place in my heart, and has even before my first visit there ten years ago (wow, I really am getting old now!).

MOSCOW, ENGLAND & maybe more…

A work trip to Moscow is on the cards this year, as well as a visit to England, as both my brother and sister will be living there soon.

Oh, and my best friend and I have come up with a totally genius idea for our 30th’s, a long awaited trip to Harry Potter world! We have been die-hard HP fans since school, so what better way to mark our maturity than by enjoying a day of magic!

I’m really lucky that my job comes with pretty good holidays, so I hope to go somewhere far away before the year ends. India is always calling to me, but we’ll see if it’s a possibility.

It’s shaping up to be a great year of travel, but I’m really looking forward to enjoying the Irish summer, no matter how short. I’m promising myself that in June, I will have at least one barbecue, whether the sun shines or not!

What are your plans for summer? Has anyone been to Morocco?
